Italy Biblical Study Trip

& a Tuscan Thanksgiving

Join us in Italy!

November 22 - December 2, 2026

We invite you to join us on an immersive journey through Italy, a land where the ancient and modern worlds don’t just coexist - they converse. While Israel provides a foundational context for the life of Jesus, Italy provides the essential context for the life of His Church. Travel the Text is passionate about providing experiences that connect historical and cultural contexts to our modern faith and Biblical study. In Italy, the biblical narrative collides with the reality of the Roman Empire as we weigh the legacy of earthly power against the enduring, servant-hearted nature of the Kingdom of Heaven. We will engage the Bible in its original first-century contexts from the preserved ruins of Pompeii, to the grit of the stones on the Appian Way, and the soaring art of the Renaissance in Florence. Italy provides the ultimate backdrop for a deeper understanding of the faith-movement that outlasted the most powerful empire in history. Join us!

Benvenuti in Italia!

Benvenuti!

We are excited to invite you to one of our favorite countries - Italy. This itinerary blends Italy’s classic experiences with immersive insights of the first century Roman world and the growth of the early church. As a bonus for these trip dates, we also have an amazing Thanksgiving in Tuscany planned - andiamo!

We invite you on an immersive journey through Italy, a land where the ancient and modern worlds don’t just coexist - they converse.

Flying into Rome, we will engage the Biblical text in its original context while following the path of the apostles and the Early Church. We’ll trace Paul from his landing on the Italian Peninsula as we walk on the Appian Way and visit sites across Rome, learning more about his final years. We will examine how the early church moved from the Catacombs, with a faith defined by equality and sacrifice, to the corridors of the Vatican, embracing power as the official religion of the Empire. We will visit Pompeii, a time capsule of daily life in the first century Roman Empire, and in Florence, witness the Renaissance’s profound impact on Christian history, art, and theology, weighing the legacy of an earthly empire against the eternal Kingdom of Heaven. Woven throughout, we will experience the magnificent flavors and beauties of local Italian culture, including our own Tuscan Thanksgiving at a villa near Florence. We’ll get our hands doughy in the kitchen learning classic Italian recipes, before enjoying a sit down, served “Thanksgiving in Tuscany” feast around the table together.

“Traveling and living in Israel dramatically changed my life and the way I read the Bible every day. I am passionate about teaching and studying in the land, and it is my dream to share this experience with as many as possible, while providing the best value and overall experience available. I do not believe there is any other experience that will change your life and impact the way you approach the Bible as much as this. We look forward to traveling with you as we literally travel the Text, following in the very footsteps of Jesus, where the Word became flesh.”
